1PLAY AT THE MUSEUM. At museums designed just for children, kids can be curious and creative with hands-on fun, building stuff, dressing up, learning how things work. The Minnesota Children’s Museum in St. Paul is one of the
best of its kind in the country, and it will open a satellite
museum in Rochester this year. Grand Rapids and Duluth
also have children’s museums. The Science
Museum of Minnesota in St. Paul is another
kid-favorite, with many hands-on exhibits.

TAKE A TRIP TO THE PAST.
History comes alive at fascinating sites across the
state. Kids can sign on as lumberjacks at the Forest
History Center in Grand Rapids, explore 1800s farm
life at the Kelley Farm in Elk River and Historic
Forestville near Preston, and march the parade
ground at Historic Fort Snelling in St. Paul.
